How the Pokémon type chart works
Every Pokémon type has strengths and weaknesses against other types. A super effective move deals double damage (2x), while a resisted move deals half (0.5x). Some matchups deal no damage at all.
Dual-type Pokémon multiply both matchups: two weaknesses stack to 4x damage, while a weakness and a resistance cancel out to normal damage. An immunity always wins — nothing gets through.
Use the attack view to plan your moves, or the defense view to spot your team's weaknesses before a tough battle.
What does 4x weakness mean?
When a Pokémon has two types that are both weak to the same attacking type, the multipliers stack: 2 x 2 = 4x damage.
Can a resistance cancel a weakness?
Yes. If one type is weak (2x) and the other resists (0.5x) the same attack, they multiply to 1x — normal damage.
Which types have no weaknesses?
No single type is without weaknesses, but some dual-type combinations come close. Use the defense view to test combinations.
